Malinda Byrd Nix, D.M.D.
Celebrating over 30 Years in Dentistry
Dr. Malinda Nix is a Phenix City native, she grew up in the local area and attended Chattahoochee Valley Community College, graduating with honors with an Associates of Science degree. She majored in Biology at the University of Alabama, completing a Bachelor of Science degree with honors. In 1985, Dr. Nix received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in Birmingham.
During dental school, Dr. Nix pursued research work study opportunities at UAB, her assignments included the Institute of Dental Research, the Biochemistry Research Department and the Biomaterials Research Department at the School of Dentistry, where she presented a research paper at the annual meeting of the National Institute of Dental Research in Dallas.
Dr. Nix first began practice with Dr. C.F. Floyd as an associate dentist in his Phenix City office. She later launched her own private practice and built our current facility in 1992. Over the years, Dr. Nix has enjoyed being an active member of the Phenix City and Columbus, GA communities. She has received the distinguished Alumnus Award from Chattahoochee Valley Community College, is past-president of the Foundation Board Chattahoochee Valley Community College and has served as a member of the Phenix City Medical Advisory Board.
Dr. Nix's professional memberships include the American Dental Association, Alabama Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the Ninth District Dental Society of Alabama. She is an avid tennis player and is a member of the Columbus Tennis Association.
With a large extended family that includes two sons and one daughter, six "perfect" grandchildren and many lifelong friends, Dr. Nix enjoys spending time with all the wonderful people in her life.
